These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MatchMyDomain ("Service"), operated by MatchMyDomain ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Account Registration
You may sign in using a Google account, GitHub account via OAuth, or email and password.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
You must notify us immediately at hello@matchmydomain.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Description of the Service
MatchMyDomain provides AI-powered domain name analysis tools, including but not limited to:
Domain scoring — Evaluates domains on brandability, memorability, pronunciation, length, and investor appeal.
AI name generator — Generates brandable domain name suggestions using AI.
Brand kit — Creates taglines, color palettes, and monogram logos for a given domain.
Trademark quick-screen — Checks for potential trademark conflicts (see Section 13).
Domain roast — Humorous AI-powered critique of a domain name.
Social handle checker — Checks username availability across social platforms.
Landing page builder — Generates a preview landing page for a domain.
Name War Room — Compares multiple domains side-by-side.
We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time with or without notice.
4. Bolts and Pricing
MatchMyDomain uses a bolt-based pricing model. Each premium tool costs a set number of bolts per use (currently ranging from 10 to 150 bolts per tool use).
Domain checks are free for all signed-in users and do not consume bolts.
Bolts may be acquired through one-time top-up purchases or monthly subscription plans.
Top-up options (one-time purchase):
$5 — 500 bolts
$20 — 2,000 bolts
$50 — 5,000 bolts
Top-up bolts do not expire and remain in your account until used.
All prices are in US Dollars (USD). We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing users.
Per-tool bolt costs are displayed on each tool's page and on the pricing section of the homepage. We reserve the right to adjust bolt costs with notice.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
Pro plan — $40/month, includes 6,000 bolts per billing cycle.
Business plan — $99/month, includes 17,500 bolts per billing cycle.
Subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis until cancelled.
Subscription bolts are granted at the start of each billing cycle and carry over (accumulate) to the next cycle.
Top-up bolts purchased separately are used after subscription bolts are exhausted and do carry over.
All billing is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
If a payment fails, we may retry the charge per Stripe's retry schedule. If payment cannot be collected, your subscription may be suspended.
6. Refunds and Cancellation
Bolt top-ups are non-refundable once purchased, as bolts are delivered instantly.
Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain access to your subscription bolts until the end of your current billing period. No pro-rata refunds are issued for partial months.
Refunds for subscriptions are not provided except where required by applicable law (e.g., EU right of withdrawal within 14 days if bolts have not been used).
To request a refund under applicable law, contact hello@matchmydomain.com within 14 days of purchase.
7. Free Tier
Signed-in users may perform unlimited domain checks at no cost.
Free users do not have access to premium tools (generator, brand direction, Trademark Radar, etc.) unless they purchase bolts or subscribe.
We reserve the right to modify or limit the free tier at any time.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools (bots, scripts) to access the Service or extract data.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
Circumvent rate limits, bolt requirements, authentication, or any security measures.
Use the Service to generate content that is defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or infringing.
Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service or its outputs without our written consent.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service.
Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, branding, scoring algorithms, and documentation, is owned by MatchMyDomain and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted by these Terms.
The MatchMyDomain name and logo are trademarks of MatchMyDomain. You may not use them without our written permission.
10. User Content and Data
You retain ownership of the data you input into the Service (domain names, brand descriptions, etc.).
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your inputs solely for the purpose of providing tool outputs to you.
We do not claim ownership of AI-generated outputs (brand directions, taglines, roasts, etc.) produced for you. You may use these outputs for any lawful purpose, subject to the disclaimers in Section 11.
We may use aggregated, anonymized usage data (not linked to your identity) to improve the Service.
11. AI-Generated Content
Important disclaimers about AI-generated outputs:
All AI-powered features (name generation, brand directions, roasts, trademark screening, pitch slides, landing pages) produce outputs using Anthropic's Claude language model.
AI-generated content is provided for informational and creative purposes only. It does not constitute professional advice (legal, financial, branding, or otherwise).
Outputs may contain inaccuracies, biases, or errors. You are responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it.
Brand Scores are algorithmic assessments based on heuristics. They are not guarantees of business success, investor interest, or brand viability.
We do not guarantee that AI-generated names, taglines, or brand assets are original, non-infringing, or available for trademark registration.
You are solely responsible for conducting proper legal due diligence (including trademark searches, business name availability, etc.) before adopting any name or brand identity.
12. Domain Availability and Registrar Links
Domain availability results are obtained via WHOIS lookups and are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed.
Domain availability can change at any moment. We are not responsible for domains becoming unavailable between the time of check and registration.
We provide buy links to third-party registrars (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Porkbun, etc.) as a convenience. We are not affiliated with these registrars and are not responsible for their pricing, service, or policies.
Some registrar links may contain affiliate parameters. This does not affect your purchase price.
13. Trademark Screening
The trademark quick-screen feature is NOT legal advice.
Trademark results are generated using AI analysis and, where available, data from the USPTO trademark database. Results are for informational purposes only.
The screening may not detect all existing trademarks, pending applications, common-law marks, state registrations, or international trademarks.
A "low risk" result does not mean a name is legally safe to use. A "high risk" result does not necessarily mean you will face legal action.
You should always consult a qualified trademark attorney before adopting a brand name, filing a trademark application, or making business decisions based on trademark screening results.
MatchMyDomain is not liable for any damages, claims, or losses arising from reliance on trademark screening results.
14. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, APIs, and services. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party service. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. We expressly disclaim all warranties including, but not limited to:
Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.
Any warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of scores, AI outputs, domain availability data, or trademark screening results.
16. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
MatchMyDomain shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MatchMyDomain, its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:
Your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
Your use of AI-generated outputs, including any trademark infringement, intellectual property claims, or business losses.
Your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.
18. Termination
By you: You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time by emailing hello@matchmydomain.com.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any unused bolts are forfeited and are not refundable upon termination for cause.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law) will survive.
19. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, conducted in the English language.
You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding.
Exception: Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement of intellectual property rights.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
21. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MatchMyDomain regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications (oral or written) regarding the subject matter.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by posting a prominent notice on the Service or sending you an email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service.
