Our Trademark Radar checks live USPTO filings. It flags potential conflicts but is not legal advice. Always consult a trademark attorney before filing.

Five naming rules that prevent weak, trendy, or forgettable brand names:
- Keep it short. One or two words is ideal. Every extra syllable is friction.
- Make it pronounceable. If people can't say it, they won't share it.
- Prefer .com. It's still the default people type. Other TLDs work, but .com builds instant trust.
- Avoid trends. Dropping vowels or adding "-ly" dates your brand. Pick something timeless.
- Check trademarks early. A name you love is worthless if someone else owns the legal rights. Screen before you commit.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does MatchMyDomain actually do?
MatchMyDomain is an all-in-one naming toolkit for startups and creators. You can generate domain names with AI, check availability in bulk, validate names with trademark screening and social handle checks, get brutally honest AI reviews, and build launch assets like brand directions, logos, and pitch slides.
Do I need an account to start?
No. You can check domain availability for free without signing in. To use AI-powered tools (generators, brand directions, Trademark Radar, etc.), you'll need to create a free account and have bolts in your balance.
What are bolts and how do they work?
Bolts are the credits that power every AI tool on the site. Each tool lists its bolt cost upfront. You can buy bolt packs starting at $5 for 500 bolts, or subscribe to Pro ($40/mo for 6,000 bolts) or Business ($99/mo for 17,500 bolts) for better value. Bolts never expire.
What's the difference between free and paid?
Domain availability checks are always free. AI-powered tools — name generation, chat brainstorming, trademark screening, brand directions, logo creation, and more — require bolts. You get a small starter balance when you sign up.
Is trademark screening legal advice?
No. Our Trademark Radar searches live USPTO filings and flags potential conflicts, but it is not a substitute for professional legal counsel. Always consult a trademark attorney before filing an application or making business decisions based on the results.
Can I register domains through MatchMyDomain?
Not directly. We help you find and validate the perfect name, then link you to trusted registrars (like Namecheap, Google Domains, or Porkbun) where you can complete the purchase. For premium aftermarket domains, we search listings across major marketplaces.
How does the Brand Score work?
The Brand Score rates a domain from 0–100 across factors like length, pronounceability, memorability, and brandability. It assigns a tier (S, A, B, C, D) and tags that describe the name's strengths. It's a quick gut-check to compare options on your shortlist.
